For wall frames that go up straight and stay straight, SMART10 LVL is engineered framing timber for studs and plates in residential and light commercial construction. Third-party certified to AS/NZS 4357.0 (CMI ProdCertPC101), it gives you consistent structural performance where it counts, with the straightness and dimensional stability that solid timber can’t match on a full frame. We stock the full profile range from 70×35 through to 290×45, in lengths from 2.4m to 6.0m, as single lengths and full framing packs.
Why SMART10 for Wall Framing
A frame is only as good as its straightest stud. Because SMART10 is laminated from bonded veneers rather than sawn from a log, every length runs true, so you spend less time picking through the stack, packing out bows, and fixing movement after lock-up. The consistent sizing speeds the frame in and cuts on-site waste, and the predictable grade means the wall performs the way it was designed to.
The specs back it: an A Bond adhesive rating for structural durability, an E0 low-emission rating for indoor air quality, and H2S SmartGuard treatment protecting against termites for framing kept dry inside the building envelope. Run narrow 70×35 and 90×35 for standard walls, step up to 140, 190, 240, and 290mm sections where the load or opening calls for a deeper member.
