How is pine primed beneficial for door jamb?

door jamb is just one of the parts that make up a door frame. Two side jambs are used to make up the vertical portion of a door frame, while a head jamb is the horizontal portion at the top. These three separate jambs along with a mullion make up the door frame.
When installing a door frame, the rule of thumb is to make the opening of the doorway roughly 2 inches wider and 2.5 inches taller than the actual door itself. This generally leaves you with more than enough space for a pre-hung door unit, space along the edges for the shims needed to plumb and straighten the jambs, and clearance along the bottom of the door for flooring material such as tiles or carpeting.
Door jamb frames consist of the two vertical legs or side jambs, the horizontal board along the top or head jamb. When a door is attached with hinges to the completed jamb before it is installed, the entire assembly is known as a pre-hung door.
